David Gage String Instrument Repair has been a strong supporter of Henry Grimes since his return. The shop hosted a bass clinic by Henry in May, attended by many NYC bassists and music fans. www.davidgage.com. Signal To Noise magazine published the first news of the return of Henry Grimes, with a 2002 interview conducted by Marshall Marrotte and a biographical portrait by Michael Fitzgerald. The Vision Festival presented the triumphant return of Henry Grimes to the New York City music world. He attended every night and performed twice, including the grand finale with the 20-piece Jeanne Lee Project orchestra, led by William Parker. WKCR-FM radio (89.9 MHz) has kept the music of Henry Grimes on the air, most incredibly in a 103-hour marathon radio festival at the end of May 2003, playing every album that Grimes appears on, conducting new interviews, and hosting live performances - with full participation by Henry Grimes himself on each of the five days. Follow-ups have taken place and Henry Grimes continues to be an important part of the WKCR-FM family. Please support them - who else is doing such work?
